The Globally Harmonized System (GHS) is an international agreement, brokered through the United Nations. It seeks to harmonize the way different countries classify hazardous chemicals, prepare warning labels, and write Safety Data Sheets.
In addition to international harmonization, the GHS aims to establish consistency in the different labelling systems used for consumer products and the transportation of dangerous goods.
All major economies in the World have agreed to implement the system within the next few years. It will create huge advantages and savings for industries engaging in international trade and will ensure consistency in the style and content of safety information given to workers, consumers and emergency responders.
All workplaces will have to train their employees in the Globally Harmonized System. Our company, GHS Training and Consulting, specializes in helping your organization train its management and staff about GHS and how it works. We operate throughout the United Sates, Canada and internationally.
